Clinical Audit Fee paid upon enrollment in the BSM program covers the full fee of this course.
Course Description: The BSM candidate, using the 10 most recent primary continuity of care clients, thoroughly evaluates the evidence-based risks and for all areas of the provision of care with their community preceptor. The student identifies institutional and/or policy and procedures within their practice that can be changed to decrease client risk and/or increase client wellness and implements these changes in their practice and methods to improve future care. This course requires 1 clinical year past licensing/certification to include 10 births which are mentored by their preceptor via a comprehensive chart review. The mentoring preceptor(s) need not attend the births. This requirement may be completed concurrently while enrolled in the BSM program.
Learning Objectives
In addition to the BSM Degree Learning Objectives upon completing this course the student will for each of their 10 reviewed charts have a(n):
- Identified client problem list and risk status for each provision of care (AP, IP, PP, NB, WW).
- Developed plan of care using Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan format for every problem identified.
- Up-to-date evidence-based care plan based on the client's problems and risks.
- Review outcomes for improvement of the quality of services.
- Implementation plan for quality improvement measures based on a review of outcomes.
